Since 1965, a World Congress has been organised by the Econometric Society every five years. The previous eight Congresses were in Rome (1965), Cambridge (1970), Toronto (1975), Aix-en-Provence (1980), Cambridge USA (1985), Barcelona (1990), Tokyo (1995) and Seattle (2000)
